| Lancashire County Council has kindly presented the society with a grant to continue with the fencing on the north side of the crossing. |
Nick and Sid have almost completed the south side as can be seen from the photograph opposite and will soon be able to transfer their attentions to the opposite side of the road. Last month Network Rail supplied us with a large skip to remove all of the waste from the down side of Hillylaid. The skip has now been filled by Allan Hargreaves Plant Engineers and taken away. | |
PWRS thank these organisations for their help and generosity which has enabled the project to move forward. |
 | The size of the fencing task on ther north side can be seen from the photograph opposite. However, the clearance of the rubbish from the immediate vicinity shoud make the job easier. In order to keep the project on track we have now drawn up a list of short and medium term activities and are looking for volunteers to take them on. It is hoped in this way we will be able to maximize our productivity whilst at the crossing. |
 | This month we have produced a daily maintenance schedule to consolidate the hard work so far, this should help to keep the crossing area free of litter and looking tidier. Daryl Leslie and his son have been hard at work cleaning away waste on the down side in preparation for this. See photograph opposite | | The next big changes that should be noticeable, besides the new fencing, will be the landscaping of the ground, this will be happening next to the crossing keepers house and the side next to the bungalows. The down side track looking towards Burnaze station can be seen in the photograph opposite. A lot of track clearance is required here and will be the next phase in the relentless pursuit of clearing the way to Fleetwood.
