It is of the same type that was located locally at the former I.C.I. site at Burn Naze, Thornton and also at the former Fleetwood Power Station.

Working Life

Her working life was spent at the Leyland Motors works in Preston which ended abruptly with the plants closure and she spent the next ten years rusting away in full view of the West Coast mainline.

Preservation History

The diesel shunter was located on a track at the Leyland Enterprises, Lancashire Business Park site alongside the West Coast main line, North of Leyland station.

Enquiries were made about its availability and rescue finally came when Lancashire County Developments donated it to the PWRS with the aim of restoring it to full working order.

Since delivery to our workshops on Saturday the 1st of May 2010 the then sixty five year old locomotive has undergone an extensive rebuild from the ground up.
